The SICO Foundation
The SICO Foundation is committed to training the best oncology surgeons of the future.
Our goal is to improve the quality of life of cancer patients by providing them with the most advanced care.
We collaborate with leading institutions in the field to create an educational pathway of excellence, based on scientific evidence and innovation.
We believe that high-level training is essential to ensure that cancer patients receive the best possible care.
Goals
The Foundation has the following goals:
- Promote the preservation of health, the improvement of the probability of survival and quality of life of cancer patients for whom surgical therapy is necessary.
- Create a pathway to specialisation in cancer surgery on a national basis, with the aim of bridging the gap currently existing with the United States and Canada;
- Becoming the European reference model for training in cancer surgery.
GOVERNANCE
ORGANS OF THE FOUNDATION:
The Steering Committee
Sets strategic guidelines, appoints other corporate bodies, and approves the budget prepared by the Board of Directors.
The Board of
Administration
Manages the Foundation and administers its assets, in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Steering Committee. Prepares the annual budget and mission report.
The Supervisory
Body
Oversees the proper management of the Foundation, verifies the accounts, and ensures compliance with the laws and statutes.
