Cookie Policy
Cookie Policy
The SICO Foundation (“Foundation”) intends to inform visitors to the website www.fondazionesico.org (hereinafter, the “Website”) about the use of cookies within the Website. “Cookie” means a text file sent by a web server (i.e. the computer that “hosts” the website visited) to the user’s browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google, etc.) and stored on the device, fixed or mobile, used by the user for navigation.
Cookies allow the Website to identify the user’s device, through the information stored therein, every time the user connects to the Website via that device. Through the use of cookies, we can facilitate the user’s navigation within the Website.
Cookies can be “session cookies” (when they are stored only for the duration of the browsing session on the website and are deleted when the browser is closed) or “persistent cookies” (when they are stored for a longer period, until they expire or are deleted by the user). Furthermore, cookies or other tracking tools can be “proprietary” (when they are created and used only by the owner of the website that issued them and are not transferred to third parties) or “third party” (when they are issued and managed by parties other than Fondazione SICO).
Cookies do not collect information that directly identifies the user. In fact, Fondazione SICO cannot, through the use of cookies, track any personally identifiable information (for example, name, surname) unless this is provided directly by the user.
1. What types of cookies are used by the Website
Technical and necessary cookies
These are cookies used to facilitate navigation and, therefore, the electronic transmission of data on the network or strictly necessary for the provision of the services provided by the Website.
Through the use of these cookies, we are able to facilitate the user’s navigation within the Website, for example by recalling the data that the user has provided when filling out forms on the Website (so-called user input cookies), to recognize the user after he has logged in to the Website (so-called authentication cookies), to customize the interface of the website based on the preferences indicated by the user and to collect aggregate data on the number of visitors to the website and the most visited pages, etc. (so-called analytics cookies used with mechanisms for partial obscuring of IP addresses). These cookies may be “third-party cookies” and do not require the prior and express consent of the user as they are absolutely necessary to provide the service requested by the user on the Website.
Profiling cookies (advertising)
Advertising cookies are used to provide users with relevant advertising and marketing campaigns. These cookies track users across websites and collect information to provide personalized advertising. These cookies are sent by third parties to the user’s computer while browsing and are stored for the duration indicated in the table below.
The use of these cookies requires the explicit and informed consent of the user. Consent will only be requested upon first access to the Website: subsequently, we will use a technical cookie to store the user’s consent so that they can directly access the pages of the Website upon their return. The user’s consent can be managed at any time in the manner specified in paragraph 2 of the Cookie Policy.
In addition, if the user registers on the Website and provides their specific consent to monitoring their navigation during registration, the data relating to the user’s navigation on the Website may be associated with their personal data.
Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies are used to understand how users of the Website interact with it. These cookies allow us to provide information on metrics such as number of visitors, bounce rate, traffic source, etc. The information collected is normally processed in aggregate and anonymous form through the use of partial IP obscuring mechanisms. If such mechanisms are not in place, the use of these cookies will require the explicit and informed consent of the user.
Functional cookies
Functional cookies allow us to perform certain functions such as sharing the content of the Website on social media, collecting feedback and other third-party functions. These tools are not strictly necessary for browsing the Website and, therefore, will be used after obtaining the user’s consent.
Other cookies
Other cookies are those not categorized in the analysis phase and not yet included in a category. Their use by the Website is subject to obtaining the user’s consent.
Third-party cookies
Each cookie belonging to one of the categories indicated above could be a so-called “third-party cookie” (for example Analytics, social network cookies), i.e. cookies that are sent and managed by parties other than Fondazione SICO.
2. How to manage consent to cookies and other tracking tools?
When accessing the Website, the user is shown a warning banner relating to the cookies that can be used. The banner provides summary information that allows the user to understand which cookies/tools are used and for what purposes; furthermore, by using the “Cookie settings” button the user can also check in detail which types of cookies and tools are used. The user is therefore free to choose whether and which cookies and other tracking tools to authorize. We will record whether the user has given or denied consent to directly access the pages of the Website without having to display the banner again, except in special cases (for example, if the user deletes cookies or if users need to be updated on the cookies used).
You can manage and customize your consent relating to individual categories of cookies and other tracking tools at any time by clicking on the “Manage consent” button always displayed on the website.
Furthermore, please note that by clicking on the “Accept all cookies” button in the banner, the user provides his/her consent to the use of all cookies used on our website and if you close the banner by clicking on the “X” button, the default settings will remain such and the user will continue to browse the Website without cookies other than technical cookies (i.e. necessary cookies).
3. Disabling/deleting cookies via the web browser
In any case, you can disable/enable or delete cookies at any time using the settings of your web browser. In particular, if you do not wish to receive cookies, you can set your browser to be aware of a cookie and decide whether to accept it or not; you can also automatically refuse all cookies by selecting the appropriate option in your browser. You can also delete specific cookies that have already been stored in your browser or block the storage of cookies on your computer from specific websites or block third-party cookies.
Each browser has its own type of cookie management. On the control panel or in the preferences you can change/manage the parameters and delete cookies.
To disable the use of all or only some of the cookies, you must change the settings of your browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, Safari, Opera, etc.).
Please consult the information in the browser manual to do this (help page).
You can also manage your cookie preferences on http://www.youronlinechoices.com.
