I grew up academically in oncologic surgery; my masters always dealt with oncologic diseases and passed on to me a passion for their treatment. I deepened this passion through study-work periods abroad and by earning a doctorate in Oncology. After my Ph.D., I took a stable position in a large provincial oncology surgery facility, while remaining a general surgeon who also dealt with oncologic pathology. As soon as I found out about the existence of this Fellowship, I applied encouraged by my chief physician; indeed, I felt the need to deepen my knowledge of oncologic surgery, a specialty within a specialty.
This path gives me the opportunity to learn about different realities, keep up to date with the latest innovations, and grow scientifically and at the operating table. I have already had the opportunity to put my knowledge into practice across the board, actively participating in multidisciplinary groups and enriching my cultural background. The ultimate goal of this path, however, is. the care of patients: training young surgeons and returning them to the local area according to the highest standards of cancer surgery means ensuring more equitable and quality access to care regardless of where they come from geographic of each person.
